How payments work

Compare payment rails, speeds, fees, and limits

Written by Noah

Overview

Altitude supports multiple payment rails so your business can send and receive funds globally. Whether you're paying a US vendor via ACH, settling a EUR invoice via SEPA, sending USD internationally via SWIFT, or transferring USDC to an external wallet, every option is available from your Altitude workspace.

All payments on Altitude are powered by stablecoins. Outgoing bank transfers automatically convert your USDC or EURC to fiat. Incoming bank deposits convert at 1:1 and are credited as stablecoins.

Accounts: Your Altitude workspace can contain multiple accounts – either USD or EUR – for different business functions like operations, payroll, or reserves. Each account holds a stablecoin balance (USDC for USD accounts, EURC for EUR accounts) and has its own banking details. You choose which account to send from when initiating a payment, and incoming deposits are routed to the account whose details you shared with your counterparty.

Bill Pay

For invoice-based payments, use Bill Pay. Upload an invoice (PDF or PNG) or forward it to your Bill Pay email address, and Altitude automatically extracts recipient details, amounts, and due dates. Bills land in your Inbox where you can review, match to an existing recipient or add a new one, select your payment method and account, and initiate payment. Once submitted, the bill moves through approval and execution like any other payment on Altitude.

Bill Pay supports ACH, ACH Same Day, Wire, SEPA, SWIFT, and stablecoin payments. For full details, see Bill Pay.

Batch Payments

For high-volume payouts, Altitude supports batch stablecoin payments – send to up to 100 recipients in a single transaction. Upload a CSV with recipient names and amounts, and the batch is submitted as a single proposal for your team to approve and execute.

Batch payments are currently only available for stablecoin (crypto) transfers. Send up to 10 recipients per batch by default (minimum $100 per transfer), or up to 100 with an extended limit — contact support to enable. For full details, see Batch Payments.

Recipients

Before sending a payment, save your recipient's details in the Recipients section. You can store US and EU bank account details or Solana wallet addresses. Saved recipients are available across all payment rails, so your team doesn't need to re-enter details for each transfer.

Note: Only Solana addresses, SWIFT-eligible international bank accounts, and bank accounts that accept ACH, domestic wire (Fedwire), or SEPA transfers are currently supported.

Payment Confirmations

Download a PDF confirmation for any completed payment. Navigate to Inflows & Outflows, select a completed transaction, and click Download Confirmation.

The PDF includes sender and beneficiary details, amount and fee, payment method, transaction ID and onchain signature, and status and timestamps.
