Send a SEPA payment

Send EUR to European bank accounts via SEPA

Written by Noah

Altitude's Pay feature sends EUR to European bank accounts via SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), with zero platform fees. Funds are sent directly from your EUR account to the recipient's European bank account, and every payment arrives under your business's legal name – recipients see you as the sender, not a payment processor.

For USD payments to US bank accounts, see Send a US domestic payment. For USD payments to international bank accounts outside of SEPA, see Send an international payment.

Sending a SEPA payment

To send a SEPA payment:

  1. From the action bar at the bottom of your dashboard, select Pay.

  2. Choose the recipient from your recipient book, or add a New recipient. For SEPA payments, you'll need the recipient's IBAN.

  3. Select the recipient account. The payment method (SEPA) is set automatically for European bank accounts.

  4. Select the EUR account to send the payment from, and enter the amount. SEPA payments have a minimum of €5 per transfer.

  5. Add payment details. Payment reference, invoice number, due date, internal note, and attachments are all optional. The payment reference appears on the recipient's bank statement.

  6. Review the payment, then click Send.

  7. The payment appears in your Inbox for approval and execution.

Note: Bank transfers are only available for verified accounts. SEPA payments can only be sent from EUR accounts. Recipients will see your legal entity name as the sender. Use payment references to help recipients match your payment to an invoice.

Processing times

SEPA payments typically arrive within 1 business day. Delivery times may vary depending on the recipient's bank and standard banking hours.
