Sign up and verify your business

Written by Noah

Altitude is available for businesses in over 150 countries. Before getting started, review supported countries to see if your business is in a supported region.

Getting started with Altitude

Navigate to Altitude to start the account creation process:

  1. Enter your business email and click Continue.

  2. Open the verification email from Altitude and click Confirm. The link expires in 24 hours.

  3. Create a passkey using your device's biometrics or password manager. Altitude is passwordless.

  4. Add a recovery email. You'll use this to regain access if you lose your primary email or your passkey. For security, the recovery email must be on a different domain from your primary email.

  5. Enter the six-digit code sent to your recovery email.

  6. Enter your full legal name.

  7. Name your workspace, accept the terms of service, and click Create workspace and start KYB.

Necessary documents and information

To verify your business account, you'll be redirected to our KYB portal to upload the following documents and information:

  • Legal business name, entity type, and business description

  • Business registration number and operational details, including estimated revenue and volume

  • Source of funds and intended use of account

  • UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner) names and emails for anyone owning 25% or more or exercising significant control over the entity's decisions

  • Formation documents (e.g. Articles of Incorporation, Certificate of Formation): must include your legal entity name and registration number, filed with a government body

  • Ownership structure document: shareholder registry, statement of information, or certificate of incumbency

  • Proof of business activity: any document that includes your legal entity name, such as supplier invoices or a signed customer contract dated within the last 6 months

  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement, or government correspondence dated within the last 3 months

  • Proof of signing authority (optional): only required if controlling parties are not named in other provided documents

Note that your verification status appears as a callout on your Dashboard.

Important notes:

  1. Use a physical business address, not a virtual address. The address must be in a supported country or your application may not be approved. You may be asked for proof of address (POA).

  2. Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) will receive verification emails directly from Sumsub to complete identity verification.
