The Members page in Altitude is where you can view and manage your team. You'll find it in Settings, under the Members tab. The table shows all existing and invited members, with the following details:
Member: The team member's name and email.
Permissions: The member's assigned permissions.
Date added: When the member joined the account.
Permissions
Each member in your Altitude account can be assigned one or more permissions. These determine who can propose, approve, or submit proposals, giving you full control over team access.
Available permissions:
Propose: Can create proposals.
Approve: Can approve or reject proposals.
Submit: Can submit (execute) approved proposals.
Members with no permissions assigned have read-only access and are shown as Read Only in the table.
Edit a team member's permissions
To update a member's permissions:
Go to Settings → Members.
Select the member you want to edit.
Click Edit Permissions. A member can have no permissions (read-only), or any combination of Propose, Approve, and Submit.
Optionally add a note, then click Propose. The pending change will appear at the top of the Members tab (not in your Inbox), where it can be approved and submitted based on your approval threshold.
Note: Submitting a proposal to change a member's permissions will automatically cancel configuration proposals with an Active or Ready status, as well as Active treasury proposals (fund transfers). See this section below for specific details.
Invite a new team member
To invite a new team member:
Go to Settings → Members and select Invite members.
Enter their email and click Send Invite.
An invitation will be sent to their email address.
New members start with read-only access. Because of this, inviting a member does not create a proposal. After they accept the invite, you can assign permissions (Propose, Approve, Submit). Assigning or updating permissions creates a proposal that must be approved based on your approval threshold.
The Date added field will show Pending until the invitation is accepted. Invitation links expire after 24 hours. If the invite is not accepted in time, you can resend it by selecting Resend invitation from the member's row.
Note: There is no limit on how many members you can invite, or on how many workspaces you can be invited to. Each email can be added to a workspace only once, so invite an address that is not already a member.
Remove a team member
To remove a team member:
Go to Settings → Members.
Select the relevant member and click Delete.
This creates a pending change at the top of the Members tab to be approved and submitted.
Note: Submitting a proposal to remove a team member will automatically cancel configuration proposals with an Active or Ready status, as well as Active treasury proposals (fund transfers). See this section below for specific details.
Change a member's email
To move a member to a new email address, invite the new address, reassign their permissions, then remove the old one:
In Settings → Members, select Invite members and send an invitation to the new email address.
Accept the invitation from a browser or incognito window that is not signed in to the workspace under the old email.
After the new address joins, assign it the same permissions the member had before. This creates a proposal that follows your approval threshold.
Select the old email on the Members tab, then select Delete. This also creates a proposal.
We're working to streamline this flow so members can change their email address directly from their account.
How configuration updates automatically cancel certain proposals
There are two types of proposals in Altitude:
Treasury proposals – Involve moving funds.
Configuration proposals – Change onchain settings, such as editing member permissions or the approval threshold.
When a new configuration proposal is submitted, Altitude automatically cancels any other Active or Ready configuration proposals, as well as any Active treasury proposals. This is done to maintain security and prevent conflicts. Treasury proposals in Ready status are not affected and can still be submitted.
Configuration proposals trigger cancellation if they include:
Changing a member's permissions
Removing a member with permissions (unless that member is read-only)
Changing the approval threshold
Inviting a new member does not cancel proposals, since invited members start with read-only access.
