Cardholders email receipts to one company address. Altitude reads each one, matches it to the right card transaction, clears clean matches automatically and flags anything uncertain. You review only the exceptions, from the card Transactions page.
Enable receipt emails
In Settings on the Cards page, enable receipt emails and choose your company's email handle. This creates your workspace's receipt address, for example [email protected] – one address for the whole workspace.
Cardholders send receipts from the email address their card was issued to, so there is no per-person setup and no app. Share the address with your team, and point cardholders to Email your receipts.
Receipt statuses
Every card transaction expects a receipt by default. Each transaction shows one of these receipt statuses:
OK: a receipt matched cleanly and was cleared automatically. No action needed.
Needs review: a receipt matched, but something is uncertain. Approve or reject it.
Missing receipt: no receipt has matched this transaction yet.
No receipt needed: you marked the transaction as not requiring a receipt.
Rejected: you rejected the receipt. The transaction returns to Missing receipt and the sender is notified by email.
Review receipts
Go to Cards, then Transactions. The default Needs attention filter shows transactions that need review or are missing a receipt; switch to All transactions for the full list.
Open a transaction to see the receipt, the details read from it and the matching reasoning. When the receipt total differs from the charge – a tip, tax, a service charge, a pre-authorization or a currency conversion – the difference is explained. From here you can:
Approve a receipt that needs review.
Reject a receipt. The transaction reverts to Missing receipt and the sender is emailed.
Mark as not needed when a transaction doesn't require a receipt.
Duplicate receipts are detected automatically, and every action is logged with who took it.
Missing receipts
Request a receipt from the cardholder – they receive an email asking them to send it.
Upload a receipt yourself from the transaction's detail view, for example when a cardholder hands you a paper copy.
Note: Receipt requirements are the same for every card and transaction. Per-card or per-amount receipt policies aren't available.
