How card cashback works

Earn monthly USDC cashback on qualifying card spend

Written by Noah

Altitude offers cashback on your Altitude Card spend. Cashback is funded and run by Altitude and paid monthly to your Altitude card account in USDC.

How cashback works

Cashback is automatic for all active cardholders. There is nothing to opt into. You earn one rate on each qualifying purchase, set by the merchant's category:

  • 1% on all qualifying spend.

  • 1.5% on AI tools and business software.

  • 2% on travel, including flights and hotels.

Rates do not stack. Each purchase earns one rate.

Note: Your rate is set by the merchant's category, so a vendor may not always fall into the category you expect. Purchases made through a digital wallet or a third-party payment processor may earn the 1% rate if the merchant's category is not passed through with the transaction.

When and how you are paid

Cashback accrues on settled purchases. It is paid once a month, after the month closes and transactions are reconciled. Payment is made in USDC to your Altitude card account.

What earns cashback

Settled purchases on an Altitude Card earn cashback.

What does not earn cashback

  • Refunded, reversed or charged back transactions.

  • Cash-equivalent transactions, such as gambling, crypto purchases and money transfers.

  • Fees, including the foreign exchange fee.

  • Transactions under dispute.

Refunds and adjustments

If a purchase is refunded, reversed or charged back after cashback has been paid, that amount is deducted from your next monthly payout. If one payout does not cover it, the balance carries forward.

Note: Cashback is a separate Altitude program, not a feature of the card itself.
